WL Plastics II
Lubbock, TX
About the project
WL Plastics II is a new, state-of-the-art medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) pipe manufacturing facility strategically placed in the Lubbock Rail Port. Designed to enhance distribution logistics and customer service, this state-of-the-art facility streamlines supply chain operations, ensuring efficient service for Natural Gas Utilities across North America. The new factory features a 132,743 SF warehouse with a recessed loading dock, two blower pits, and 10 equipment lines with concrete trenches (9 operational, 1 for future use). A concrete cross trench efficiently channels water from the equipment lines to the two sump pits. There is a 7,257 SF office, housing administrative and operational functions, and an approximately 1,200 SF breakroom, doubling as a tornado shelter. There are two separate buildings on the property: a 415 SF unloader building for unloading materials from the rail cars and pumping it into the silos and a 600 SF security building on the NW side of the property for security personnel overseeing the plant. There is approximately 1,200 LF of rail spur and a fully fenced 790,000 SF stack lot, ensuring organized material storage and logistics.
