Mesquite ISD’s former Learning Center was transformed into a state-of-the-art clinic and pharmacy designed exclusively for MISD employees. The project involved a complete interior gut and renovation, and exterior updates to create a fresh, modern aesthetic.
The newly renovated clinic features two spacious lobbies—one designated for well patients and the other for sick patients—along with 10 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, a large nursing station, a triage room, a laboratory with dedicated storage, and offices for the manager and providers. Additional amenities include a large breakroom, staff locker rooms, a small counseling suite, and shell space for future service expansion. The class-A pharmacy, which has a separate entrance and waiting area, is equipped with a new drive-thru window for added convenience. It also includes a compounding room, pharmacy office, locker room, and restrooms for pharmacy staff.
The Mesquite Employee Health Center (MEHC) is a unique partnership between the City of Mesquite and Mesquite ISD that involves an innovative approach to controlling the cost of health care. The MEHC is a tremendous benefit and convenience to employees and dependents who participate in the respective health plans.
