About the project

The City of Killeen’s Lion’s Club Park consists of the Senior Center and the Family Aquatic Center. The 15,000 SF Senior Center is for adults 55 and older intended to enhance and enrich the lives of active adults in the community by providing high-quality facilities for wellness, life-long learning, and social opportunities. The facility includes an indoor walking track, fitness classes, cardio and strength training, yoga, and more. In addition to fitness, there are rooms for crafts, meetings, and games, plus a ballroom, a kitchen, and a library. Connected to this building by a covered walkway, is the Killeen Family Recreation Center, which is approximately 40,000 SF and has a maximum capacity of 780 people. The Rec Center contains a gymnasium, a jogging track, rooms for aerobics and meetings, a weight and fitness area, and a lounge. There is also a 2,180 SF bathhouse, a 25-meter lap pool, and more than 10,000 SF of aquatic amusement including three tower slides, a unique bowl slide, spray grounds, and a jungle gym of fun in an aquatic play structure.
