The Mustang-Panther Stadium, originally built in 1969, has long been a cornerstone of the community. While minor repairs and renovations over the years addressed routine wear and tear, a more comprehensive overhaul was needed to meet modern standards. Thanks to funds from the May 2016 bond approval and a TIF agreement, the school district brought this vision to life, blending tradition with progress.
Reflecting the district’s rich heritage of excellence, the renovated stadium pays homage to its history with a design that evokes nostalgia. The brick exterior and high archways echo timeless architectural elements, seamlessly connecting past and present.
The transformation includes significant improvements such as enhanced security with updated and new surveillance cameras, repairs to spalling concrete, and greatly improved accessibility, making it easier for all spectators to reach their seats. Modernized concession stands, restrooms, and spirit shops provide a more comfortable fan experience. The upgrades also feature a new press box and a state-of-the-art scoreboard equipped with an improved sound system and advanced technology.
One of the standout additions is the Walk of Honor, celebrating distinguished alumni and staff from GCISD. The revitalized Grapevine-Colleyville ISD athletic complex now accommodates over 9,000 spectators and boasts an aesthetically cohesive design that complements the historical charm of nearby Main Street. This renovation ensures the stadium remains a cherished and functional part of the community for generations to come.
