The new state-of-the-art 32,660 SF Celina Police Facility was designed to offer the Celina Police Department a modern and secure operational hub conducive to employee well-being, aiming to create an efficient work environment prioritizing safety, health, and wellness. The facility features a spacious, welcoming lobby doubling as a community room equipped with furniture, audiovisual capabilities, and other essential support systems. This multipurpose area serves various training needs and provides a secure reception point for Police Records staff.
On the secure side of the building, spaces are provided for Police Administration, Investigations, Patrol, and Records. There is also space allocated in the new facility for a new Dispatch Center once the city reaches a size that this is needed. Support areas for staff include a unified break room with access to the interior courtyard and locker rooms with specialized lockers for law enforcement officers. These areas are built to withstand an EF-5 tornado.
The building's exterior is mainly made of limestone and glass, with steel and exposed wood details. Inside, the exposed wood continues as the main structure consists of heavy timber columns, glulam beams, and cross-laminated timber decking, adding warmth to the facility. Large expanses of glass allow natural light to flood the building, accompanied by a 2,882 SF fully glazed interior courtyard creating a pleasant and stress-reducing environment.
Adjacent to the main building is a 5,600 SF asset support building, enhancing the facility's functionality and providing space for Property and Evidence. This structure also includes a designated exercise space that can extend outdoors, facilitating cross-fit training and promoting officer and staff wellness initiatives. The structure and layout of the buildings were designed in such a way that allows the facility to expand over time to keep up with the growth of the city. Together, these facilities are designed to bolster the police department's ability to deliver exceptional policing services, aligning with Celina’s commitment to community safety and service excellence.
